Jellyfish Fossils
Recent studies have shown that there are many jellyfish fossils available all throughout the United States. The recent storms have proved to shed some light on these fossils. The miracle is that there are some places where the fossils have been preserved.
According to recent research, there have been hundreds of giant jellyfish that had been living about 500 years ago. Unfortunately, they were stranded by tides or storms. As a result, sand buried them as time passed by which allowed to form fossils.
These have been considered a miracle by most researchers because it is quite rare for jellyfish fossils to be preserved at such a long time. But studies revealed that there are some theories that can back up this story.
Scientists have discovered that there were many generations of tidal cycles that had caused the jellyfish remains to fossilize. Although there are other theories that have popped up within the many years of research such as the forming of sedimentary elements due to the floods that occurred many years ago.
The sedimentary elements helped preserve the impressions of jellyfish that have been found many years ago. Because of the fossils being located at a deeper level of elevation, they did not erode as quickly therefore preserving the imprints of the dead jellyfish.
In addition to this, if they were buried underneath the sedimentary elements that helped preserve them throughout the years. However, this theory is still considered as quite impossible because jellyfish are not hard bodied like other animals. Therefore, they could not have had any body parts that could be preserved throughout the years.
This is why scientists are clearly baffled about finding jellyfish remains in the beaches in recent years. For this reason, it is also considered as a scientific miracle that has been discovered by the human race.
In addition to this, according to some experts it is more likely that the occurrence of the flood have had something more to do with the fossilization of the jellyfish remains which disproves the theory of the generation of tides.
Let us hope that further study will help scientists and other researchers answer the questions regarding how the fossils just came about in the beach shores. That way, we will be able to further understand how the jellyfish are able to preserve themselves so well that there remains are still able to endure throughout hundreds of years.
The fossils can also help experts learn more about how the jellyfish have evolved through those years of survival and evolution. Did humans have anything to do with it? Or was it the environment that played a more significant role in the preservation of the jellyfish?
