The Newport Aquarium is located on the banks of Ohio River, conveniently a two minutes drive from downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. The aquarium has been known for a long time to feature thousands of exotic animals collected from around the world, and the newest addition in the aquarium is the Jellyfish gallery that's reported to be the largest in Midwest. Its home to around 100 different species of Jellyfish.
This brand new Newport Aquarium Jellyfish Gallery provides the coolest display, as you will be amazed and mesmerized by the jellyfish exhibited on a 360-degree tank and 3 new see-through tanks which allow you to walk around and have a more clearer and closer view. There is even a new interactive tank where one can make the jellyfish change their color, and a huge Jelly Wall where one can play tag especially with the moon jellies.
To some people, jellyfish are wiggly, squiggly, jiggly fun while to others, they are the most mesmerizing, graceful, and serene animals on earth. The Newport Aquarium Jellyfish gallery houses them in 8 different tanks and also utilizes state-of-the-art technology for the exhibits.
Newport Aquarium Jellyfish exhibit is especially very kid-friendly, as children of all ages will be sported captivated and mesmerized by all the 3 see-through tanks that are filled with the blue water that contains either colored, clear, or partially white jellies in it.
The Newport Aquarium Jellyfish gallery is home to various species including Moon Jellies, Colored jellies, West Coast sea nettle, Spotted Jellies, Egg yolk jellies and Upside down jellies, among others, all housed in a 2,000-sqft exhibition and around 3,000 gallons of water. Perhaps the main attraction in the Jellyfish gallery is the 9ft tall, 6ft wide cylinder home to the dancing moon jellies. It's quite an impressive massive display that has over 1,700 gallons of water and visible from the Coral reef tunnel as visitors make their way in.
The Newport Aquarium, which was upgraded from the 1999 old aquarium, today uses the latest water pump technologies to ensure the water is optimal for jellyfish survival. The energy-conserving aquarium's overhead lighting is wholly LED-based, while the tank lighting is made up of 75% of LED. LED happens to be the most competent lighting system worldwide.
