Dried Jellyfish With Cucumber Goi Sua Tom Thit
Goi Sua Tom Thit is one of the classic Vietnamese cuisine. It is a lively and nutritious green salad tossed with shaved vegetables, shrimp, pork and jelly fish and is often served with sesame crackers. This is one dish, if prepared, will have your family or guests clamoring for more and praising your cooking skills. Get away from the junk food culture and try this delicious salad, you will be amazed at how great a healthy dish can taste.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS (6 Servings)
- 9 oz (250 g) dried jellyfish
- 2 ounces of ham
- 1 chopped shallot
- 3 teaspoons of chopped peanuts that have been roasted
- 1 large unpeeled cucumber
- 4 ounces small shrimp
- Fresh black pepper (a little sprinkle)
- A sprinkle of fresh coriander to garnish the food
- 1 teaspoon fish sauce (nuoc mam)
- Salt to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Soak the dried jellyfish in hot water for two hours
- Slice the cucumber lengthwise into halves and then use a spoon to take out the seeds. Slice the cucumber into very thin pieces and put them inside a bowl. Sprinkle one teaspoon of salt.
- After about ten minutes, rinse the cucumber in cold water. Remove all the liquid inside by squeezing with your hands.
- Slice the pork into thin pieces, Take the shrimp and peel it, wash, clean and leave it to to dry. Take the soaked jellyfish and slice it into thin strip pieces.
- Pour oil in a frying pan and heat it, put the shallot that you chopped and cook. Ensure that you stir for one minute then add the shrimp and pork. After five minutes, add a sprinkling of sal, black pepper, and fish sauce. Stir this new mixture for three more minutes
- Add the roasted peanuts , jellyfish and cucumber. Stir well and remove immediately, transferring to a serving platter.
- Sprinkle a little of fresh coriander to decorate the dish and serve the dish.
